OBJECT ORIENTED DESIGN FOR SOFTWARE ENGINEERS

Object:

This is the companion laboratory course for SE351a and SE352b. The centrepiece of the laboratory will be a large group project (about 500 Function Points or approximately 50KLOCs) in which the students will plan and build a piece of industrial strength software. All of the elements of Project Management and Software Process will be used. In addtion, labs on specific tools and techniques will be given.

Evaluation:

In order to pass the laboratory, a student must obtain a passing grade in each component. A student who fails any component shall receive a final grade not greater than 48%. The approximate weights for each component in shown below. Note that these are maximums; if less than the stated number is given, the rest of the marks will be pro-rated.

  • 30% laboratory participation (10)
  • 20% quizzes (4)
  • 50% major project
