Please check this page frequently for important announcements.
- (00/04/17) I am planning to hold office hours in room
SF2302D from 5-7 p.m. on the Thursday April 27th. This is the Thursday
before the final exam.
- (00/04/17) I have received the A4 and A5 marks from Daniel
Taranovsky and Nikola Koncar. This means that all marks for all TAs
are now available on the "marks" web page. You can pick up your marked
assignments from the CSSU office in room EA106 (Engineering Annex).
- (00/03/28) Here is a summary of the
late penalties for A5.
Notice that there is no electronic submission for A5.
- (00/03/23) Next week in tutorial, the TAs will be covering
this
inheritance example. You might find it helpful to print this
example in advance, and to take it to your tutorial.
- (00/03/20) The late penalties for A3 and A4 have been
changed slightly, in your favour. Please see the
Lecture #11 announcements page
for more information.
- (00/03/20) My office hours will be from 3-5 p.m. (instead
of the usual 5-7 p.m.) on next Thursday March 30th.
- (00/03/02) The marks for ALL sections of A0, A1, and the
midterm are now on the web page. Please contact me if any of your
marks are missing.
- (00/03/01) The marks for A0, A1, and the midterm are on the
web page. The only marks that are missing are the midterm marks from
Daniel's tutorial section.
- (00/02/29) Since the drop date is this Friday, I will make
the midterm marks available on the web page
- (00/02/28) Please read the information about
how not to cheat in CSC108.
- (00/02/24) I have added the solutions for the midterm
to the exam web page.
- (00/02/10) Please see the exam web page
that I have just set up, for more information about what is covered on
the midterm exam.
- (00/02/09) The marks for assignment 1 are now on the web
page. I have e-mailed your marked assignments to your CDF-PC
accounts.
- (00/02/08) The aids allowed for the midterm exam are: your
textbook (Arnow & Weiss), and the API reference (either the version
you got from the bookstore or the textbook by Lewis & Loftus).
- (00/02/03) The TA strike is officially over. We will keep
you posted about how the grading scheme will be affected. In the
meantime, you should report to your assigned tutorial section from
6-7pm next Tuesday Feb 8th.

- (00/01/26) We have determined how the course will be
restructured if the TAs strike beyond Feb 4th. See the "Revised
Grading Scheme" on the course outline page.
- (00/01/25) Lectures on Feb 1 and Feb 8 will be from
7-9 pm.
These lectures will be covered by Ray Ortigas. The remaining lectures
will be from 6-9 pm, as usual. I will have office hours on Feb 1 and
Feb 8 from 1-4pm (this is in addition to my regular office hours).

- (00/01/18) If you need information about submitting
from home using the Microsoft Windows FTP program, I have prepared a
home submission tutorial.
- (00/01/12) The lecture web page now contains a couple of
links to pages that have examples of CodeWarrior. One contains
detailed instructions about how to use
CodeWarrior at CDF-PC,
and the other is a modified version of the
CodeWarrior example
from class.
- (00/01/07) Please remember that the course newsgroup is for
general questions. If you have any questions in which you think other
students might be interested, please send them to the newsgroup. And please read the newsgroup
regularly.
- (00/01/07) As of 3:00 p.m. today, there is a TA strike. We'll
keep you posted about how this will affect the course. There will be
no training sessions now. Until the strike has finished, you should
come to Room SS2102 for a 3-hour lecture instead.
- (00/01/07) The times for the training sessions have been
posted on the
course web page. Follow the schedule of training
sessions link.
- (00/01/06) The first assignment, Assignment A, a not-for-credit
assignment, is due electronically on Thursday January 13th. Follow

CSC108 assignments link.
- (00/01/06) Don't forget that for the 2nd and 3rd week of classes,
lectures start at 6:10 p.m. in SS 2102.
- (00/01/05) On the "Links" page of this web site, I have placed a
link to a document called
Doing
your work in CSC108. You should definitely take a look at this
page, as it contains important information about submitting your
assignments (from school and from home), and about how your assignments
(the non-electronic ones) will be marked.
