Transition Drill 6: Transition Passing

Purpose

Defense and forwards practice transition passing in neutral zone.

Description

Drill works out of both ends.

Drill starts with X1 passing to D1 who is skating backwards.

X1 skates toward D1 and curls to centre ice facing D1.

D1 returns pass and follows into zone for second puck from coach.

X1 takes shot followed by D1.

Key Teaching Points

Make all passes while skating backwards.

Always face passer and give him target.
