Getting Something Remarked

The procedure

  1. If you disagree with or are confused about your mark on an assignment or test, you must make a written request for remarking, using this form (in ps or pdf). Note that vague statements like "it deserves more marks" or "what I did is correct" will usually not result in success. You must be specific and have a good reason.
  2. Bring the form, plus the entire assignment or midterm to your TA. If it is a very simple request, he or she may address it on the spot. If not, they will take it away for consideration and return a written reply to you.
  3. If you are not satisfied with your TAs response, you should submit everything to me, again using the form, and explaining why you are dissatisfied.

Note

Although we don't set out to lower your mark, be aware that your mark can decrease if the marker sees something that was incorrectly awarded too high a mark.

Deadline

Remark requests for assignment 1 or 2, or for the midterm, must be submitted to your TA by Fri 22 March.
