Wayne Enright

Biography

Wayne Enright was born and raised in British Columbia. He received a BSc from UBC in 1968, an MSc in Mathematics from the University of Toronto in 1969 and a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Toronto in 1972. He was Chair of the department of computer science at the University of Toronto from 1993 to 1998. His research interests are in the general area of numerical analysis and scientific computation with a particular focus on the analysis and development of reliable numerical methods for ordinary differential equations (ODE s) and integro-differential equations (IDEs) as well as the design and evaluation of numerical software.

Wayne Enright is a past president of the Canadian Applied and Industrial Mathematics Society (CAIMS) and a current executive member of IFIP WG2.5 on Numerical Software. He has organized several international and national conferences and served on research evaluation panels in Canada, the US and the UK. He is also on the editorial board of ACM Transactions on Mathematical Software. He is a recipient of the IFIP silver core award.
