2012 - Present

Research Assistant, University of Toronto

I am working as a research assistant under the supervision of Professor Alberto Leon-Garcia. I am a member of the Communication Research group and currently working on two projects right now: the Sustainable and Green Telco Cloud project and the Smart Applications on Virtual Infrastructure project. You can find out more through the project links: Green Telco Cloud, Ecolotic Annual Workshop and SAVI website.

2008 - 2010

Research Assistant, University of Toronto

I worked as a research assistant under the supervision of Professor Peter Marbach in the Computer Science Department. We investigate the information propagation pattern in online social networks, design statistic model to fit the real human trend adoption behaviour observed from the blog hosting network LiveJournal and the academia co-authorship network DBLP.

Project - Sustainable and Green Telco Cloud

Voice service has been a main revenue generator for a long time for the telecommunication industry. However, the traditional voice service is delivered over the circuit-switched network separated from the packet-switched data network, resulting in a large variety of proprietary hardware appliances in the network and an ossified service deployment for resource sharing. In the blooming era of LTE and all-IP packet technology, it becomes significantly important to support Voice service over IP in order to sustain the revenue generating. We first kick start by understanding how VoIP signalling and media flows are transmitted (on the left: detailed SIP signaling diagram; on the right: media flow path).
