Notice that you were required to achieve 40% on the final examination
in order to pass the course. If your mark calculates to more than 50 but
your exam mark is below this cut-off your course mark should be 47.
If your unofficial grade is a few (at most 3) marks higher than you grade
on ROSI, then you should know that your grade on ROSI was incorrect
due to a clerical error. It will eventually be corrected to match
this unofficial grade. If it doesn't change in a month, you should come
and see me during an office hour.

- April 23: Even More Office Hours!
- Announcement: Additional office hours will be
held on Friday April 27 from 1 - 2 pm in 4006. For those of you
with REALLY last minute questions, Mansoor will hold office hours in
4007c on Tuesday May 1st from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.
- April 18: Pre Exam Office Hours
- Announcement:
I'll be holding office hours in my office (4006) on the following
days and times:
Monday April 23: 10 a.m. - noon
Wednesday April 25: noon - 3 p.m.
Monday April 30: 1 - 4 p.m.
- April 11: Tutorial or not Tutorial?
- Question: I thought you said in class that the Wednesday
and Thursday tutorials would take place this week, but the 148 web-site says
otherwise. Which is correct?
- Answer: There are no tutorials on St. George. On Erindale
we will have tutorials on Wednesday and Thursday. TA's will take questions
about course material, talk about writing a good exam and then do sample
questions from old exams. There will be no marks associated with these tutorials.
- Question: But what about if my tutorial is Friday?
- Answer: Friday tutorials are cancelled because of the holiday.You may attend any Wednesday or Thursday tutorial that fits your schedule.
- April 11: Office hours today
- Today's office hours will be 10 a.m. - noon rather than
11 a.m. - 1 p.m.
- April 4: Strategies for Success Seminars
- Announcement: The academic skills centre is offering
three more free sessions for 148 and 108 students. All the sessions are
in the centre in 2115B. Topics and times are as follows:

- Announcement: Unfortunately Geoff Duern's week 10 tutorial
didn't happen. Students in Geoff's section who wish to get credit for that
tutorial must submit their completed week 10 prep work to Geoff during their
tutorial on April 6. Of course the week 11 prep work is due at the same time.

- March 21: Testing for the Project
- Question: I'm not sure what is expected for the
testing in the project. Can you give me some examples?
- Answer: There is a handout about testing in the course
handbook and also there is a sample testing report from a previous term
available in ps
and in pdf.
- March 13: Office Hours This Week
- Announcement:
This week a TA will hold office hours in 4007B on Thursday
(March 15)
from 10 - 11 a.m. and from noon - 1 p.m.
We will also have office hours in the Computer Centre lab on Saturday
(March 17) from 2 - 4 p.m.
Please use these opportunities to ask lots of questions about the project!
- March 10: Midterm Correction
- Announcement:
I just found 3 small mistakes in the midterm solution. The corrected
version is now available in
PostScript and in pdf.
If these mistakes affect your mark, you must submit your paper to your
TA by March 16th. We will not change any grades after this date.

- January 17: Code Warrior Patch Installed
- Announcement: The Code Warrior patch has
been installed on all the machines on the UTM labs. They are now
able to compile A1 starter code without error.
