CSC258H: Fall 2006

Overview

Welcome to the course webpage for the fall 2006 term of CSC258H, Computer Organization! This course is a survey of various topics throughout the realm of coomputer hardware, from semiconductor devices and transistors, to microcode and assembly language.

This course is being offered at the St. George campus as well. Note that the contents of the two courses will overlap at some points, but they are generally two completely different courses. Do not attend the lectures at another campus and assume that they will cover the material of the UTM offering.

There is a one-hour tutorial on Thursdays that will review the material covered in lectures, and/or review information that will be important for the assignments. There are lab sessions on Tuesdays as well, in which hardware exercises will take place, and where the assignments are handed in.

There are also 3 assignments, a midterm, 7 labs and a final exam.
