csc444h — software engineering I — fall 2015

course project

the course project will be broken up into a series of three (3) assignments. students will work on assignments in groups of five (5) to seven (7). we will be simulating working in a software development organization by using an open source project. our chosen project is the firefox web browser. it is strongly recommend that students visit the developer site for instructions on how to download and build the source code.

for each assignment, teams will be submitting written reports detailing their work. there will also be a short, approximately 15 minute, stand-up meeting with your teaching assistant or instructor to discuss the assignment, and to collect the peer evaluation forms. the stand-up meetings will likely occur the day following the due date, in the lab.

groups

assignments will be carried out in groups. project groups are posted here.

peer evaluation

for each of the assignments, you will be asked to individually assess your own performance, as well as that of your teammates. each team member will be submitting a confidential group evaluation form along with their written reports. please have these forms filled out and ready before the stand-up meeting, and hand them directly to your instructor or teaching assistant.
