Course objectives

Many programs at University of Toronto Scarborough such as Biology, Chemistry, Management or Computer Science require you to take Mathematics or Statistics, or expect you to demonstrate an ability to analyze and communicate data. This non-credit course in Mathematics Preparedness, Summer Learning Institute, will help you build a mathematics skill set you need to succeed in your university studies.

This course will cover topics such as: algebraic manipulations, equations and inequalities, analytic geometry, functions, and trigonometry.

Final assessment

• The final assessment is scheduled for Monday, August 25th, 1:30pm-3:30pm. Room: IC130

• August 31: Some statistics about the final assessment and the course grades are posted here.
  Note that only students who wrote the final assessment have a course grade, in which case, the weight of the final assessment may be adjusted accordingly to account for un-submitted assignments.



• August 31: The Final assessment and sample solutions are posted. The final assessment was marked out of 90 instead of 100.



• August 25: Marked final assessments will be returned to you on Tue Aug 26 9:30-11:30 in IC465.
  Solutions of the final assessment should be posted by 6pm the above date.
  


• August 23: Final Assessment
  • The final assessment is on Monday Aug 25 1:30-3:30 in IC 130.
  
  
  • Students with PRIOR arrangements can write the final assessment on Tue Aug 26 9:30-11:30 in IC 465 and Natalia will invigilate the exam. Note that if you do not have prior arrangements, you must write the final assessment as indicated above.
  
  
  • For the assessment, no aids are allowed, except one NON- graphing calculator.
  
  
  • Marked final assessment will be returned during the office hours: Tue Aug 26 (time TBA) and possibly Wed Aug 27 (time TBA). Please check the course website for details.
